Materials used for Horseshoes

Coming soon will be a detailed description of the material used to make these horse shoes. Concave barstock, half-round, and flat stock.
The word Farrier has its etymological roots from French and Latin words meaning iron. Our modern word farrier derives from the french word Ferrier from the Latin word Ferrarius a derivative of Ferum meaning literally iron. It s use in the application of horseshoes comes from a medieval Latin development.

The term Ferrous and Non-ferrous which is used to describe that which contains iron and that which does not also comes from these root words.

I do believe it is awlays essential to remember where one comes from and as a farrier progresses though his learning it becomes more and more evident the importance of iron, or steel, in his trade.

(Jeremiah in Tucumcari, NM at a American Farriers Association Certification)

It is always important to continue ones education and the AFA plays an important role in the farries education.

Jeremiah Harris was awarded the 2006 High Points Certified Farrier Written Exam at the 2007 American Farriers Association Convention. He has been in the farrier practice for over 10 years. Most of that time has been spent in the central Arizona area. He has traveled to numerous states to gain experience from well known farrier shoeing dressage and event horses. He has also spent time out of the counrty with world renouned farrier Bob Marshall.  Due to hard work and a desire to always achieve higher expectations Jeremiah sets the highest of standards for himself and this is relflected in the quality of work. He hand makes the majority of his shoes and chooses to use a bar stock material manufactured in England called Concave. It provides a strong but light shoe while allowing great traction.

We go above and beyond for the love of the art of the Farriery Science.
