"Farriery for the whole horse"

AS time passes and our understanding of the horse increases it becomes all the clearer to take the entire horse into account before shoeing or trimming even the most basic of cases. What we do as farriers is often limited to one of the smallest parts of the anatomy but it is certainly one of the most complex. Not only is advanced knowledge of the anatomy of the hoof needed but at least a remedial knowledge of the entire horse anatomy in order to properly be of benefit to the horse and rider.
Hoof&Forge.com is dedicated to the horse and all equine practitioners. Since the domestication of the horse around 3000 B.C the care of the horse has been left to not one but many individuals, the groom, trainer, farrier and Veterinarian. The complexity of the horse and that which we ask of them necessitates the use of many and their talents. We all rely on one another to maintain, correct and restore the horse. It is our belief that in order to achieve the best of care it is a cooperative effort between all these professionals. Today we have at our disposal numerous persons with that same outlook including but certainly not limited to the Veterinarian, Farrier, Trainer, Massage Therapist, Chiropractor and Groom. A team which encompasses these and others is only for the betterment of the horse.
